CHICAGO — June 27, 2019—RIoT Insight, Inc. is pleased to announce the successful implementation and continuing rollout of the RIoT RFID solution with The Foschini Group (TFG), based in Cape Town, South Africa.
TFG comprises over 4,000 stores across 28 separate brands in 32 countries spanning five continents with more than 27,800 employees. TFG Africa represents the most significant market for the company, accounting for over 2650 locations, followed by TFG London with 935 retail outlets across Europe, and TFG Australia with over 447 outlets across Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand.
Their digital transformation serves as a beacon to modern retailers, seeking to meet the needs of the modern consumer. “Click and collect has become critical in our business,” says Brent Curry, CIO at The Foschini Group, South Africa. “When we look at true omnichannel, we believe that we need to fulfill customer requirements from anywhere, anyhow and from anyplace. For that we needed to have stock accuracy in our stores, as well as our distribution centers.”
He continues that in order to achieve this “…the group has adopted a digital transformation program, and it’s been driven from the board down to all of our brands, locally and abroad. One of the key drivers within this program is RFID, which was mandated by the board as being critical to meet the objectives of our digital transformation to support our omnichannel strategy. And we wanted a quick roll out of RFID of 24 months for all our brands.”
After a comprehensive multi-vendor live trial selection process, TFG selected RIoT Insight as their in-store RFID solution vendor, based upon the solution fit and scalability, as well as RIoT’s ability to tailor their solutions to meet the unique needs of their business and brands.
This aggressive roll-out is now underway, currently at 500 stores, at a rate of 40 per week, making the TFG implementation not only one of the largest RFID rollouts in the world but potentially the fastest as well.
